CIRIEC International
Founded in 1947, CIRIEC (International Centre of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy) is non-governmental international scientific organization dedicated to the research, production and dissemination of knowledge on economic sectors oriented towards the general and collective interest.

Based in Liège (Belgium) since 1957, CIRIEC coordinates a broad network of national sections and institutional members across 19 countries, while also mobilizing an extended international scientific network. It thus brings together a multidisciplinary community of researchers, experts and practitioners, fostering exchange and mutual enrichment.
CIRIEC is characterized by its dual academic and operational anchoring, as well as by its cross-cutting approach to the public economy and the social and cooperative economy. This positioning enables it to produce analyses with strong societal relevance, directly addressing contemporary challenges, and to actively contribute to public debate.
CIRIEC has carried out numerous international research projects and organizes, on an annual alternating basis, major global scientific congresses and conferences bringing together researchers, public decision-makers and socio-economic actors. Its work is structured through scientific commissions and international working groups.
Through its publications — including the scientific journal Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics (now published by the Edgard Milhaud Foundation) — and its collaborations with international organizations, CIRIEC actively contributes to strengthening understanding of issues related to the economy of general interest and to supporting the development of research-based public policies.
